Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT)

Mr. Peter Stanton

“We demolish arguments and every pretension that sets itself up against the knowledge of God, and we take captive every thought to make it obedient to Christ”

 - 2 Corinthians 10:5

Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) from a Christian perspective can help us to learn tools to help us identify unhelpful, negative thoughts and replace them with truth. The process of identifying unhelpful thoughts in CBT can be related to the scripture guiding us to “take every thought captive” (2 Corinthians 10:5). CBT focuses on identifying and changing unhelpful thought patterns. Once we identify a thought is there… we can align more with what is helpful, encouraging and true.
