Background:

Katrina is a Clinical Psychologist, offering services in the assessment and treatment of psychological disorders and syndromes. Drawing from a range of effective, evidence-based therapeutic approaches, Katrina works to address the unique needs of each individual in order to promote long-term change. Katrina trained in a range of hospital, community-based, and clinical settings and has worked in private practice for over 12 years. She holds a doctoral degree in Clinical Psychology and utilises her skills and experience to provide a comprehensive approach to individual therapy.

Katrina’s style is empathic, collaborative, and adaptive. She adopts a goal-oriented approach, working closely with clients to understand their challenges and desired outcomes. Together, they address these issues flexibly and systematically to achieve lasting resolutions.

For her Christian clients, Katrina integrates gospel truth and faith-based applications of psychological therapies where appropriate.

Katrina specialises in treating chronic conditions and lifelong patterns of dysfunction, particularly those stemming from trauma and attachment issues. She has a particular interest and expertise in treating Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder, sleep disorders, phobias and panic disorder.

After working together on a joint understanding regarding a client’s concerns, Katrina uses appropriate interventions from evidence-based therapies such as:

  • EMDR (Eye movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing)

  • Schema Therapy

  • Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT)

  • Relaxation training and mindfulness-based therapy
